Summer 2006

PSFA

We started our fund raising events back in October last year with a most successful Fashion Show. Some of our Year 11 students modelled fashions from Bench, Hooch, and Miss Sixty, to mention but a few. This was a well attended event and was a most enjoyable evening. Our Christmas Fair was held on 1st December, this is our biggest event and the committee worked very hard to get everything organised. In January we held our annual Quiz Night. 30 teams battled it out under the excellent Quiz Master skills of Ian MacDonald. Again, a well attended and enjoyable evening. We held another Fashion Show in April, our Year 11 students strutted their stuff along the cat walk and showed off more fashions including Abercrombie and Fitch, and Juicy Couture. Stylists from the Escape Hair Salon in Borough Road came along and transformed the girls into glamorous models.

We decided to give our little yellow ducks a rest this year and instead of our annual Duck Race, we held a Grand Draw. Draw tickets were given to every student and the Draw took place at the Spring Concert in March and two lucky people won the £100 and £50 prizes. The P.S.F.A. Committee support the College at the many concerts held throughout the year by providing a licensed bar. The new licensing laws have had an e ffect on our bar applications, being now much more expensive and have a limit on how many we can have each year. However, we shall continue to support the College in this way for as long as possible. We are planning further events for the summer term which will most probably include a Bingo Evening. This will be the first time we have tried such an evening and it promises to be quite a giggle. Look out in the local press for details and come along and give it a try, you will be most welcome.
