Mrs Daisy Matilda Harrison nee Austin
Mrs Daisy Matilda Harrison nee Austin, now 92 (c2008) and residing in Hatton, recently visited the Brookhouse Hotel to celebrate her birthday. The family read about my appeal for information whilst waiting for lunch and got in touch.
She was born in Rolleston and after her father was killed during WWI she had to move to a smaller cottage in Brookside. Arnold Burston will hopefully be talking to her soon to find out more about memories of her childhood and growing up in Rolleston. The family has already sent me photos of Brookside (c1933?) and a tea towel showing scenes of Rolleston in the period 1900-10 (see below).
