Old Manor House
I received this email about ‘Rolleston Hall’:
... “My name is Lynn Witherington and I am living in California. In my husband's family there is - well actually it’s in front of me right now - a beautiful hand-tinted photograph of an Elizabethan-looking house (see picture below). Both my husband’s parents are descended from the Mosley family and we've been told this house is called Rolleston Hall, and it was built by them. It is in a u-shape, with a little house with a pitched roof built around the front door. There are six chimneys, each with three pots, it is all brick, some covered with ivy. The windows are in horizontal bands of five, and there is a beautiful flat lawn. Does this house still exist?”

Local historian Idris Bowen believes this picture of a Tudor looking hall is definitely not any form of our Rolleston Hall and casts doubt over any association!! It is a modern picture of an attractive but as yet unidentified building. Do you recognise it?
