With the season about ¾ of the way through our first and third teams are beginning to struggle for the points to keep them safe from relegation from Division 1 and 5S respectively. The 2nd team on the other hand are doing quite well, holding 4th / 5th position in Division 3S. Isn’t it strange what difference a year makes – last season these positions were just the opposite. 

Our junior teams, although well supported, had a somewhat disappointing season as regards results, but enthusiasm remains high. Several U-15 players are now playing regularly for the 3rd team and are performing well.

In July we hosted the final of the Burton Breweries Cup Competition and although the match itself proved a little disappointing with Tutbury securing a very easy victory over Ticknall, the day itself proved very successful. Our thanks go to all who made it so, particularly the catering team under Joy Dent, and to Tutbury CC for extending the cricketing side of the day with a quickly arranged 20/20 game against a Rolleston XI.

Our thanks must also go to Dave Woodburn and John Hodson for preparing the grounds at Rolleston and Marchington week in, week out during the very hot weather. It has not been easy with so many matches now being played, particularly at The Willows.

Our 3rd XI will again be playing their home matches at Marchington CC

The Burton Breweries Cup Final is scheduled to take place at Rolleston CC on Sunday 23rd July (11.00 am) 
There is a representative match against an MCC XI on Thursday 10th August (11.30 am).
There will also be a Derbyshire League Cup Final at the ground on Sunday 27th August.
