Art Club News 2006

Newsletter - Winter 2006

Members have enjoyed a full and interesting programme this autumn. We have had a very good demonstration from Robert Wareing on portraits in pastel where he produced a delightful portrait of a member's 10 year old daughter. We are looking forward to our next demonstration from Robert Brindley a local lad who is now painting professionally. The weekly programme contains topics such as animals, transport, drawing figures, and coming up will be winter scenes. Also we are looking forward to the club's Christmas dinner. For more information please contact on  812184 or Bob Smedley (chairman) on 512206.

Newsletter - Autumn 2006

The club members were very disappointed not to have held their summer exhibition, due to the fire at the Brewhouse. It is hoped that the refurbishment of the Brewhouse will allow their Christmas exhibition will be held there. At the moment members are out sketching the surrounding villages on club night and they have enjoyed superb sunny weather. The Autumn programme starts on September 4th at 7pm at the Methodist Church Schoolroom, Stretton. For further information please contact Bob Smedley on 813159 or on 812184.

Newsletter - Spring 2006

The club members are now well into the Autumn programme. By the time Rollestonian is published the members will have had a demonstration by Deb Walker, a well known local artist.

Exhibitions are an opportunity for members to display their work at its best; having to mount and frame their pictures. There are two. coming up this year — the first is the BADAC/ESBC small pictures exhibition at the Brewhouse from April 1st to May13th and the second is the Club's Summer exhibition also at the Brewhouse 3rd to the 24th June.

The club continues to attract new members. For any further information about the club and its activities please contact on 812184.
