Art Club News 2004

Newsletter - Winter 2004

The club members are now well into their autumn programme. Members can follow ideas for painting and drawing – different ones being suggested each week. We have had a demonstration by a professional artist on painting animals using watercolours. Another week members have brought in their own work for appraisal and have received encouragement, constructive criticism and praise for their work.

By the time you read this our Christmas exhibition at the Brewhouse will only have a few weeks to run so hurry down and get that unique present. Charity Christmas cards are also being sold there at the same time.

Newsletter - Autumn 2004

The members are now well into the summer programme of outdoor sketching and painting. They will be visiting Sudbury, Barton Marina, Marston, Tatenhill, Tutbury and Rolleston before resuming indoor club nights at the Stretton Methodist Church schoolroom in September. Rolleston based members organised the Open Art Exhibition at ‘A day of Traditional English Events’ in early July.

Our autumn program will be a mixture of optional topics e.g. Olympics, boats etc., demonstrations, still life drawing and art appreciation where members have the opportunity to view other members work and give help if needed. Also many will be working to produce paintings for the annual Christmas Exhibition at the Brewhouse in Burton. We will be also thinking about where to have our Christmas celebration meal!
