Art Club News 2002

Newsletter - Winter 2002

The club is now part way through its Autumn programme of themes, workshops and appreciation nights. Club numbers continue to grow. The troubles at the Brewhouse did cause us some anxiety since we had an exhibition booked for November/December. However the exhibition will continue at the Brewhouse and will be open in the evenings and Saturday matinees at all the shows and events from 23rd November to 17th December. Our Grand Opening is on Saturday November 23rd at 12noon.

Remember you can purchase any picture and take it away with you if you would like it for yourself or as a Christmas present. The exhibition will also be open during the day when 'Cards for Christmas' are selling their charity cards. If you would like any further information about the club or its activities please contact Ron Price on 812184.

Newsletter - Autumn 2002

The members have been, for the month of August, sketching and painting around Burton getting ideas for pictures to work on during the autumn.

The Monday meetings of the Club start again on September 2nd at the Stretton Methodist Church Room.

Our next Exhibition will be held in the Brewhouse (hopefully?) nearer Christmas.

For more information about the club and its activities, please contact Ron Price on 812184.

Newsletter - Summer 2002

The members are now out sketching and painting getting some ideas and preparation for the autumn. We visit local villages to seek inspiration, although if the weather is bad and for those who wish to work inside, our club room is open on a Monday. You may have seen some of our work in the BADAC Small Pictures Exhibition at the Brewhouse in April or at the Rolleston Jubilee Art Exhibition at the Scout HQ. Our next exhibition will be just before Christmas at the Brewhouse. At the end of May the members enjoyed their annual dinner which this year was at the Castle Hotel, Hatton.

For more information please contact Ron Price on 812184.

Newsletter - Spring 2002

The Club had a successful exhibition at the Brewhouse before Christmas in which the members sold twelve pictures. Also the exhibition resulted in a number of new members joining.

We are now embarked on our spring programme covering such themes as 'Drawing Hands' and ‘Art Appreciation’ - where members bring their own paintings and for help and advice!!!!. Also some demonstrations by professional artists are planned.

No doubt some members will also be preparing for the Rolleston on Dove Open Exhibition in May. For more information please contact Ron Price on 812184.
