St Mary’s Church “Angels @ Advent”
Friday 30 November – Monday 3 December 2007

If you came to see the church decorated in Christmas trees two years ago then it won't surprise you to hear that this time people could admire lots of angels. The church was open daily from 1-6pm, with refreshments in the old schoolroom next to the church. There was also a concert on Friday by Beatus Choral at 7.30pm in the church - and a special Christingle service on the Sunday.

Angels of all shapes, sizes and materials (including CDs and the Burton Mail) - made by a range of people/groups in Rolleston such as the choral and allotment societies, as well as the village school, guides, RODSEC, Civic Trust and Starbucks - took flight in St Mary's church to celebrate Advent. I was not going to count them - but the pictures here just represent a small sample. The whole event raised over £3,100 for church funds.
