Amitié Française
Maintaining an interest in France, its language and way of life.

Amitié Française is a friendly group of people living in and around Rolleston-on-Dove, who share an interest in France, its language and its way of life. They hold eleven meetings a year, usually on the third Friday of every month at The Priory Centre, Church Road, Stretton. Meetings are not conducted in French and include a meal. Forthcoming events include wine tasting, quiz, experiences of a tour guide in France, caravanning in France, presentation on Verdun, galettes evening, leisurely walk / treasure hunt, bar-b-que & boules - and a trip to France. In addition French films, with English sub-titles are shown on some Saturday evenings. Why not go along and experience the ambiance. For further details check out their website.

News - Autumn 2007

Started thirty years ago at Burton Technical College by its President Mme Catherine Granell, the club now meets every 3rd Friday of the month at 8.00pm in the Priory Centre, Church Road, Stretton. Activities enjoyed vary from enjoying the odd glass of wine, a crèpes evening, listening to talks from visiting speakers on French related subjects, quizzes, a BBQ and Boule competition and trips to France – all accompanied by good food and company. A knowledge of the language is not a “must” – just an enjoyment of French food and wine and their customs.

For more information about the club please contact Gill Lomas on 845615.
